Thank you, Jamie. ^__^ We didn't plan the shot out. Shawn and I had already taken photos in my front yard, and we were on our way to the deck in my back yard. Beth just decided to take a mini action shot, heh. I like that it's spontaneous.
The quote is mine. It came to me when I was in Photoshop. I usually never quote others in my blog... I try to keep things original, for the most part. I will, however, user song lyrics in graphics sometimes. ^^
Thankies, everyone! I was so happy with how the photo turned out. The fact that it's more candid than some of the shots from this photoshoot made me drawn to it even more. <3 Beth did some wonderful editing to make it appear antique-like.
I immediately thought of an old polaroid picture of a couple in the summer. I'm using this photo as a reminder of the last days of this summer.
What a perfect way to put life. I am glad you are getting some
free time now to enjoy the great things in life. Beth took a very
nice photo of Shawn and You! :-)
I like the faded color and the choice of font and color. Photo composition is almost there but it works anyway. that is to say, I wish the girl's hand wasn't cut off but I think it works anyway.
Gorgeous photo, Lauren. Kudos to Beth for taking such a lovely shot! I love the old-time look that the photo has. I saw some of the other photos Beth took on Facebook, and they're just stunning. I loved them all, I think I looked at each for quite awhile before going on to the next. ^__^ Wish I had someone who could take such lovely pictures of me and Matt, hehe. Was this for your upcoming 5 year anniversary with Shawn? I can't wait to see more. <3
I was at the kitchen table talking to Beth when I read your comment. I read it aloud to bet (or at least paraphrased it), and we agreed that we really appreciate it when you and other people focus on both the photography and the model(s) of a photo. It's nice getting compliments and critiques both ways around. So thank you for your sweet words, as always, Jen. Both of us send lots of smiles your way! ^___^
No, this photoshoot was just for the fun of it. I realized that the last photos Shawn and I had together were at the beginning of summer, when we went on our mini getaway. Since summer is wrapping up and I can feel the seasons starting to change, I wanted to capture that good, warm feeling of those last days of vacation-- with Shawn. I think Beth was able to pull that off, so I'm very happy with results of this shoot...
Yeah, it's great sharing photography as a hobby with Beth. We both have very similar, yet different, perspectives, which always puts an interesting spin on photoshoots. ^__^
I love the effects in this photo, it does look like a postcard. and I agree with everyone who said that Beth captured it lovely, it gives me a good feeling. :)
Lovely... I like the composition, the way that you and Shawn provide movement to an otherwise still-life. The antique finish is nice as well. I think this would make a good fake-pola if it was in square format and a bit blurrier.
Thankies, everyone. That vintage look, like a few of you mentioned, is my favorite part of it as well. I'd love to do a series that looks more like this photo. Beth and I will have to collaborate more often...

Nice job, Beth (and Shawn and Lauren, heh).
I'm thinking this would be a great Christmas card for the two of you to send out

Great work by the Kawaii photo group.
